Swine Flu!!! ahhh!!

So I guess I should change this paragraph! At first I thought it was really silly to close the whole district, which could still be a bit much, but now our district has a confirmed case of the flu; so I am just wondering if and when my school will get it. Hopefully we won't! I don't want to have to make up a week of school in the summer. I am ready for Swine Flu to be done, esp since we are going to a cruise this summer!! We might just be staying on the boat and wearing a full face mask! Now that would be attractive :)

Our bathroom remodel is coming right along!! The tile is complete, the shower is complete, new toliet is in and working, the walls are textured, closet door frames have been spray-painted to match (saved us hundreds!), wall mirrors have been purchased, and windows have been ordered. We are going to paint this week and buy our new light fixture. Plus we need to install our new sink faucets, we already did the others. Hopefully everything will be done within a few weeks. I still need to figure out what color towels and such I want. I also need to make new window treatments. That might be a summer task because school is almost over so we are in rush mode to get everything in before the end of May... so perhaps the window treatment adventure will be on hold until June 1st. Here are a few pictures of the tile work complete, but pre-wall texture. I will post those when the color is on them.

On a slighty different note (completely different actually), I think Kelly from Real Housewives is CRAZY! She doesn't fully comprehend the English language or understand what human interaction is like, possibly because she is part alien. I don't like her and I hope they don't bring her back next season. I also think that Ramona always seems very surprised because she opens her eyes in a huge manner during every conversation. It is actually quite frightening.

TAKS is done! Well, until we get the scores and then we find out who needs to re-take it. I am working with the 8th graders that didn't pass now and it is quite the under-taking. I am hoping that their scores really improve but it is very hard when I only have two weeks until they take it again. What can ya do?! Only 4 or 5 weeks (I can't remember how long). Hopefully 4 :)

Oooo it just started raining so I think I am going to curl up with my book and read until Jeremy gets home and then watch LOST! Woohoo!!

Insert Something Clever

TAKS is Tuesday and I am stressed and worried and ready for it to be over. I have been doing TAKS non-stop for three weeks. It is boring, I hate it, but I am still worried that I will have a few not pass. We shall see. Hopefully they pull it out and prove that they really can find how much a shirt costs with tax and know the difference between a scalene and isosceles triangle. Pray for me! At least my principal already told me I am coming back next year. Job security, I love you.

Another thing I love, reading, I miss it. Can't wait to start reading more this summer. I checked out 3 books from the library the other day. Dead Until Dawn (I think that is the name), Cross Country, and Swapping Lives. All pretty different types of books. D.U.D. is the first book of 8 and they turned it into True Blood, the HBO series. So far it is just like the show. Hopefully I can get ahead of the show before it starts back. Cross Country is the 3rd of the Cross series by James Patterson. Do you read his books? They are great reads. I found two more in my closet for me to read yesterday, happy day! Swapping Lives is by Jane Green and she has the quick girly reads that are just grand. Check her out too. I have another stack of 5 that I found lying around that I would like to read. Why are there not more hours in the day?

On a side note.... something that irks me and baffles me is when girls dress skanky at the gym. I keep thinking if you are wanting to impress people at the gym, looking like a hooker is not the way to go. Try classy?? What type of guy are you wanting to attract looking like that and what do you want them to think? What also bothers me about these few ladies is that, not only are they wearing as little clothing as possible, but they have their hair down. I am like do you not plan on actually working out? Because that is just plan nasty. Not to be mean, but I am just going to end on this tid bit of information. The three worst ladies up there also have three not very nice looking faces. Just sayin......

A happy thought... I found mirrors. After weeks of looking, we finally ordered them from Crate and Barrel. I saw them online before so we looked at them today while we are at the Art Festival in Southlake and we both liked them (that's a first) and we ordered those bad boys! Now, 6 paint sample cans later, we still need a bathroom color. Blah!

Summer Goals

Since I have summer fever incredibly bad I have decided to make a list of my summer goals and hopefully have them checked off my list by August! Feel free to keep reminding me to get off my couch and start being productive!!

1 - Work out and get in better shape. I work out a lot already but I need to take more classes and just get into better bathing suit shape. And I just need shed 5 pounds... oh I am dreading trying on my bathing suits from my skinny honeymoon days:(

2 - Tan! This should be easy, I have a pool! Who wants to join?! And I am not talking kinda tan, I am talking DARK DARK DARK... like it would take months in the fall for me to fade!

3 - Scrapbook. My poor scrapbook hasn't had a new page in months. I only did ONE page for my wedding so far! How sad!!

4 - Make an upholstered headboard for my guest bedroom. I know Staci, Kim, and Allison want to join the fun. Any other takers?!

5 - Finish our bathroom... like crown molding, accessories, lighting, window treatments, everything...

6 - Come up with fun math games/lessons (I said this last year and I just kept putting it off bc I didn't want to think about math, so hopefully times have changed!)

7 - Read, read, read. Should be easy enough for me. I got 3 books from the library just yesterday.

8 - Blog more on www.emsdeals.blogspot.com It is actually a lot of fun for me!

9 - Go on some weekend trips with Jeremy. I hope we can drive though! I hate flying even though we can for free!

10 - Cook healthy dinners for us!! Or just cooking in general :)

What are your summer goals?!

I'm Back!

Okay I am vowing to actually blog on a regular basis, as in more than once a month. Lots has been going on lately! Kendra and Josh got married and it was a beauitful wedding! The rehearsal dinner was GREAT... although since I got there early and set up a few things the guy that worked there thought I was in charge and kept coming up to me telling me things that were going to happen. I just smiled and nodded and then told Kendra and chuckled about it. I should be a wedding person, I LOVE them and like taking charge. I know me?! Never! But yes, I do enjoy it. We had a load of fun dancing at the reception! I even cut my toe from my shoes because I danced so much! Can't wait to see the crazy pictures from the photographer. Here are a few quick pictures of the wedding. I have not been good about taking pictures, I just steal everyone elses once they put them on facebook (aka my other addiction).

Work is going great, only 6 more Mondays! WOWZA! But I only have two weeks until TAKS. As Alicia would say, TAKS is upon us... and row your own boat kids! haha.. if you knew her you would die laughing. I am getting stressed over TAKS, but I can only do so much and then it is up to them, so I am doing what I can. I found out today that I might be teaching an 8th grade on-level math course next year, which might stress me out. I teach one 8th Enrichment, but on-level is a bit different and it would be more stress to teach that with all my 7th pre-AP. But I will just do whatever they give me and be thankful I have a job!

Easter was a lot of fun, it helps that I like a lot of food and my parents and Jeremy's parents made the same meal. Thankfully I love mashed potatoes and ham! And CANDY.. good gosh I hope I don't gain 20 pounds! We won on our Easter egg hunt, like I said before. We had to be back to back and had to hook arms. My arms were so far behind my body it was killing me shoulders! I mean I thought I was about to pull a freaking muscle. Jeremy was like just lay on my back and I will run around with you! I was like are you kidding me!? I can't rid on your back BACKWARDS... I have bones, friend! But no one went into the living room but us so we got all of our eggs from there. Good times, good times. My mom said this was our last egg hunt because the babies will do it next year. Well screw that! I don't have a baby, I am fair game and those little crap machines are going DOWN!

Onto what has taken over our life, our bathroom remodel! So, Weston helped us demo it at the end of March and we are reallllly getting somewhere! It is not done at all, but getting so close! Victor and Jeremy are working on the shower floor as we speak and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! The floor is all complete and looking beautiful. The wall tile is getting there as well, just needing to do the top part where the shower head is and the boarder. Once the floor is done we can put the tile right above it.. then do the bathtub tile. So, obviously there is a lot, but there has been SOO much done! Here are some pictures of how it is coming along so far. What wall color do you think?! We are going to paint the trim a light cream to go with the flooring. I need to find mirrors which has been such a fiasco! Please tell me where to go! I swear I have been everywhere! I don't want to spend much on them because well, I don't! haha.. we also need to get a new lighting fixture that will hang a bit (Allison told me I need to do that as well.. I didn't know I did, but apparently I do). So much to do! I hope to be done sometime this summer! haha.. and I have to do new window treatmeants. Why are we not millionaires?!

Okay here are mirrors from Horchow that I LOVE LOVE LOVE... and I want something like this! And I love this ceiling medallion! If only Jeremy was up to rewiring a lighting fixture, I would use it! (why they are so small... I don't know! I will try to fix it later!)

Oh boy

I have been a blog slacker... sorry!! Life has taken over for the time being, but I think I will try to blog today after work.. or this week sometime! Our bathroom is coming right along and hopefully we can actually use it by next week! That would be amazing :) Easter was great, Jeremy and I won our Easter Egg Hunt.. as usual. I am the champion every year, be jealous. Anywhom, the bell is about to ring and my conference period is almost over. Although, I did get my grades in the gradebook! Accomplishment indeed! Okay, I will write an actual grandular post with pictures later. Ta-ta!
