Impromtu Vacay!

We have decided to take a quick trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Wednesday! It is going to be fast, we will be back on Saturday. We are super pumped about it! Actually, we haven't decided on where we are staying... we should get on that since it is two days away. But we think we might try to stay in Hollywood Beach, we have hear a lot of good things about it! Imagine us here:

I am already nervous about the flight.... yuck yuck yuck! I hate flying. I am going to try to take some medicine that makes me sleep. Perhaps vicodin?! I would LOVE to sleep through the whole flight, but that never happens. Poor Jeremy, he hates to fly with me.... well too bad because you are going to fly with me the rest of your life! Get used to my nails going into your arm. Man up! Anyone have good flying tips?

Other than that nothing super exciting going on. We finally saw Ice Age 3... love it! Those are my favorite movies. I got to hang out with my family Friday night and Saturday so that was lots of fun. Although, I forgot my camera. Oops! And, we got addicted to another series. 30 Rock! Hilarious!!!

Off to do laundry, what fun!

Garage Sale Finds

I am going to actually try to garage sale Friday morning to look for some cute chairs that I can re-cover and then a little table. I am thinking of putting this in the living room or maybe even our bedroom and get rid of the wing back chair that I always manage to keep covered with a blanket and tons of clothes. Here is the look that I am going for... and remember the tables will not be black.

Also, Jeremy and I have been talking about moving to Charleston more and more. We love it there, we were only there for a couple days, but we fell in love. So... maybe a few years down the road I will be posting from my adorable home in Charleston or by the beach :) Want to come visit?

Thrilling

I started my collection yesterday at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, you all know I am a sale shopper. I bought these earrings...

...to go with this necklace. Online it doesn't have the color that I bought, but mine is the gold color that matches the earrings.

If only I had seen this ring (and it were on sale) before the cruise! How fun would that have been?! I would take every picture with my hand at my face to make sure the ring would be seen :)

If you have some massive spare change and would love to buy a gift for a curly headed gal... I'm it and I have a few suggestions in the purse dept. No worries they are on sale, not exactly cheap but a sale none-the-less.

I wish I had a lot of weddings or something coming up because I love love love these dresses. AND they are all under $100. I don't know what to say except my birthday is tomorrow... I will take one of each. Thank you.

I bet you can guess which is my favorite dress!

Complete

Well friends, my upholstered headboard is complete and I am so pumped about how it turned out. It was actually really easy to do. Now I would like to say that I did this on my own, but that didn't happen. Jeremy and Adam cut the boards and then I realized that using the staple gun that isn't electric was not an easy task! It took a lot of strength to get that dang foam and batting stapled to the wood. Since Jeremy is a loving and wonderful husband he did all but about 6 of the staples! haha.. he wasn't very thrilled but he did so much of the work. It really didn't take long at all. I bet we could do another one in less than an hour. Quick process! Here are a few pictures of the whole fiesta. And... it isn't up on the wall yet, just resting there. We still have to do that but we decided to get in the pool instead of doing that this weekend :)

What do you think?! Remember if you want to make one we got all of the info from the blog Pink Wallpaper... it is one of my fav blogs!! If only I was that dang crafty, my house would be amazing! But it is getting there :)

Be the first

I have decided to start a Betsey Johnson jewelry collection, which means I actually need at least one piece to begin. If you have any that you don't want anymore feel free to send it my way :) Not sure why I have recently started to like her stuff much more but I have. It is fun and crazy and adds a little pizzaz to my black and white shirts. I seem to have 50 of them. So... neck, wrist, and fingers.. get ready to be Betsey Johnson-ified.

On a sad note, my favorite and the best instructor at our gym has accepted a new job at a Lifetime in Houston. *tear* I am going to be get fat. I don't blame her, sounds pretty amazing, but hopefully there will be a great new person taking her place that can teach step as well or even better. Maybe the chick-a-dee from Wednesday night, she was AMAZING! Anywhom, only the people who go to my gym and are step-aholics are going to get this paragraph.

Off to make some headboards!

Get Ready

Saturday is the big day that we are making upholstered headboards! There is a good possibility Staci and I have either the same fabric or highly similar. It happens everytime for some reason. I went straight from tutoring (which is really fun fyi and great money) to go get fabric. I was thinking it would take one, maybe two stores... black fabric with a little detail can't be a hard thing to come by. Well, I went to Home Fabrics and Rugs and I loved tons and tons of stuff, although nothing for this project. Ran to Joann's, nada, Hancock's, zilch. I went to Hobby Lobby that is located in the semi-ghetto which means I was cranky at this point. A... it is about 120 degrees outside and I am running from store to store and dying of heat... B)... I had to sit in traffic at 2pm (how does that happen?)... C)... I was hungry (this should be point A, it is highly important to me). I get to Hobby Lobby and I actually find a fabric I can live with and it is on sale, score! Wait, what is that?! Oh an ugly stain that is repeated throughout the fabric. The lady tried to tell me that was part of the fabric. Yeah, you could be right, but I don't think ugly white bird crap looking stains were supposed to be there. I leave the store annoyed, hot, and hungry. Jeremy came home, with beautiful flowers for no reason, so instantly I was a happy camper yet again! I was fine once I got home and stopped sweating! We went to Hobby Lobby in Southlake and got the same fabric! So, I am almost all set, I just need to get the egg crate and cut the wood. Fabulous!

Pictures will be posted of our fun Saturday Craft Day! I am excited!

And just a side note: I actually cooked dinner on Monday and it didn't include heating up pizza and it was edible! Impressive.

News Worthy

Watching Ellen right now, whom I think is hilarious, and the preview for the news just said Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson call it quits... find out why. Seriously?! That is the most important part of tonights news? I find that hard to believe. Now I do love me some gossip but that is what TMZ and Perez Hilton are for... not the frappin news!

My weekend was amazing, thank you ever so much for asking. Friday night Ben, Jeremy, and I went swimming and then to Boomer Jack's for a drink (or two for me) and dinner. The chips and salsa were so good! haha... that is my favorite part about meals. But we had a great time. Funny times indeed. I have no pictures, but just imagine us three at a table eating.

Saturday I had my regular workout early in the morning and I wanted to pass out towards the end. No surprise there. I work out 6 days a week and am still somehow out of shape. I am the 8h Wonder of the World. I just don't get it.... I mean I buy reduced fat so doesn't that mean you can eat twice as much?? Whatever I am blaming genetics for this mystery. Anywhom, after spending almost two hours cleaning the house we headed over to my parents house for a late Father's Day Celebration. It was a crowded day at the Jamotta home, all the kiddos and babies were there, then both sets of my grandparents, and dad's cousins. Little bit of a fiasco from time to time. Bella had a wee bit of a meltdown, but no worries... 25 minutes later we got her calmed down and then she was all smiles. Here are pictures that I stole from Allison's blog bc I didn't take any!

So we left there about 7ish and headed home to get ready for some friends to come over to watch UFC. I am not a huge fan of this, it actually grosses me out immensely when there is any blood. But I always have a lot of fun hanging out with all the guys and gals. Staci, Stef, and Kim came over with their hubbies so we sat on one side of the room and talked Real Housewives and other fun girly stuff while the fights were going on. By 1am Jeremy, Ben, Randall, and Aaron were still playing a physical game of ping pong and I didn't see an end in sight... so I created one and went to bed!

Jeremy didn't love that I took pictures on UFC night, but he can get right on over that!

Sunday was another grand day... worked out and then Jeremy and I went to my grandparents to help them set up their tvs and phones. I sat there and played on my grandpa's scooter and Jeremy actually did all the work. But my grandpa was in rare form and spitting out funny crap left and right. We were about to leave through the side door and my grandpa goes, "Don't go that way! It's a bitch to get out!". haha... here is my grandma's response, "You can't go through the grass, but they can walk!" So he said okay and it was settled... back door it was. We were cracking up. Jeremy loves to go see them, he just sits with my grandpa and laughs at what he says. Gotta love em.

So Angela and Ben came over Sunday afternoon and swam and hung out while we went to grab dinner with Jeremy's parents. It is like Ben lived with us this weekend lol. We came home from dinner and he was just lounging in the backyard. We watched True Blood, Hung, and Entourage!! So glad Entourage is back! Oh Johnny Drama! Turtle looked skinner too, did anyone else notice that?

Okay off to put laundry away.. what fun!

Big Change

Monday Jeremy called me to tell me that he found a fridge on sale at Lowe's by his work. Well, we (to my knowledge) weren't in the market for one, so I said great, see ya at home. He sent me the model number and asked what I thought of it. It is a GE that has the freezer as the drawer on the bottom. Someone returned it and got a new one so this was over $1,000 off and there isn't anything wrong with it. We decided on Monday night that we would rather save the $850 and wait until something goes wrong with our small, non-ice making fridge. Tuesday comes along and Jeremy calls me on his way home and brings up the fridge again and said he might go up there with his dad... okay, whatever... I told him it was his decision and I didn't care either way. Well, two hours later he called on his way home with a new fridge in the truck! This is where the actual work begins. I was with his mom and his two nieces at the time so we drove to our house and Jeremy and his dad were starting to undo the ties around the fridge. They said "well, you and my mom can get the top part and then my dad and I will hold the bottom". Umm.... this thing is heavy as crap and immediately Lisa and I were like this doesn't seem like a great idea. We are leaning the fridge and yelling WAIT WAIT IT IS TOO HEAVY for a good 20 minutes before Jeremy let me call my dad for help. My dad comes over with the dolly and we get the fridge down in no time at all. Then we find out that we need to take the handles off because it won't fit through the front door. That task took about 20 more minutes. So, we are ready... fridge in the house pronto! Not so fast... nothing is easy with us... we cannot fit it through the front door still, so we have to take off our front door! Awesome. We FINALLY get that damn fridge in the house and they put the handles back and the door back, but not without nailing everything around the hinges! Now I have to go back and do tons of touch up paint. THANKS GUYS because you know I freaking LOVE painting. Anywhom, here is the old vs. the new fridge. What do ya think?!

I had the joy of serving Tarrant County today by going to Jury Duty. I could barely contain my excitement thinking about sitting in a room with a lot of random people waiting for by number to maybe be called. Thankfully I knew someone there so I had someone to chit chat with. I managed to not get called for the first 4 groups of 20 and then the last two groups of 60. Impressive. I do get called, along with everyone else leftover, as a reserve jurist. Now I am a bit confused as to why you would need say 60ish reserve jurist when you just called over 200 to be potential jurist. I didn't quite get why they needed us, but whatever. So then they say you will be able to leave around 3! EXCUSIE?!?!?! You have got to be crapping me! To say I got an instant annoyed induced headache would be an understatement. It immediately started pounding. So that just about ruined my Wednesday. Not kidding, I couldn't even do my master step class full out. Two gals from class asked if I was pregnant... no joke... now that I think about it I should be offended because they were basically saying you look like a lard-ass. Anyways, jury duty over. Can they prove that you even got your summons?! I might just try tearing it up next time and see what happens.

Onto one bit of THRILLING news.... Project Runway is coming to Lifetime!!! Not sure when, but I read online today that the 16 people have been picked. Thank gosh because I cannot stand the awful Fashion Show. I hope it is cancelled. But YEAH YEAH YEAH.... You are either in or you're out! Let's start the show!

Back to Reality

This is going to be long!

The cruise was so much fun and I wish I was still there!! At this exact time I would be eating dinner with Jeremy, Staci, and Brad and we would be waiting for the staff song and dance during dinner. That was one of my most favorite parts of the evening! Anyways, so much to talk about and so many pictures to add. I might just write about it now and then do another post of just pictures because I still need to get some from Staci. She took about triple the amount I did, wowza!

So first let's talk about the tanning situation. This was a main purpose for the trip, I needed to get dark dark dark. Unfortunately, I got red red red. No bueno. The FIRST full day on the cruise Staci and I layed out for about 4 hours while the guys were hanging out. They played in a ping pong tournament and Brad actually brought home the medal. We have a picture of that somewhere, promise. Well, I reapplied my sunscreen a time or two and apparently that just didn't do the trick. Now, I have not gotten a sun burn since before Jeremy and I started dating, so over 3 years ago, but I sure did stop the streak on Monday. My left shin was a little red, no biggie, but boy oh boy, were my ladies RED! Like lobster red, not pink, RED. I put a good gallon of aloe on hoping to just wake up with normal colored skin. Nope, didn't happen. I had to stay in the shade the next day or two and then wear a non-tube top bathing suit. No worries, they are no longer red and I didn't burn any other time.

You may not know this about me, but I tend to get car sick very easy....so naturally I was pretty concerned about being on a ship for a week. Jeremy's mom had some patches she wore on her last summer that she gave to me. Things were going smoothly the first 3 days, not problems at all. I had to switch my patch to a new one and I am not sure if I did it too soon or what because the next day I went to read some papers in the morning and my vision was a tad bit blurred. I thought maybe it was because I just woke up and my eyes were just a little red, so I just went on with the day. Well, I tried to read my Harry Potter book outside and I had to focus so hard on one word to make out what it was that it was taking me minutes to read a page and it gave me a headache. Jeremy and Brad thought I was just making it up but I promise, I brought 4 books to read and I was highly annoyed that I had to just sit there because of my freaking blurred vision! I even tried on Jeremy's glasses to see if that would help, I moved my book really close to my face, really far away from my face, I squinted my eyes and I opened them up as big as possible; but no such luck! My eye sight FINALLY went back to normal on Saturday, the last pool day of the week. Just my luck. But at least I didn't get sea sick!

The shows! Entertaining for many reasons. The dancing was straight out of the 1990's. I am guessing it is the same choreography since Carnival started. The outfits, oh my gosh, the outfits!! Bizarro! haha.. the girls were usually in almost Vegas themed outfits, like thongs or near close to it. Not great dancers, but good enough for a cruise ship apparently. The guys were cheese-balls and I LOVED it! Their outfits were a hoot too... if only we could have taken pictures of them. I loved it. The comedy and magic shows were really good too. The magic one was my favorite. I wish I knew how they did those dang tricks!

We won Name That Tune and our plastic trophy is now front and center on our mantel. We tried to win other things, like money at the casino, but we failed miserably. I dream about getting a Moon on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th lines so I could go to my bonus round. Oh to have won the $100,000! That would have paid for numerous cruise vacations! Staci got me addicted to it, blame her. By the way, Brad dances to every type of music and at any time of the day. Quite entertaining.

Jamaica, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman were great! Jamaica was our first stop and we decided to go snorkeling. Strangely, while we were waiting to get on the boat I met a future student. Her and her mom came up to me and asked if I was a teacher and blah blah blah... I now know one student that will be in my class next year. And I ran into her every day after that, in my bathing suit.. awesome. Anywhom... snorkeling was great, I didn't swallow as much water as expected. A random thing happened, we asked our taxi driver to stop somewhere for us to get some drinks, and so he did... but in the middle of a busy road and someone came running with a cooler full of drinks! That is service right there! Grand Cayman and Cozumel were really nice, hot as heck, but great fun. We walked around both places and did some shopping and eating. I did not buy a single thing. I know, I can barely believe it myself, but when I tried on rings they just looked like a big sparkle on my finger. So I couldn't justify buying it because I was worried that I wouldn't like it when I got home and my eyes were normalized. Jeremy did buy a hat, big spender! Although, he really out-did me because he bought not one, but TWO shirts on the cruise. He ran out of shirts and was THAT guy who wore a Carnival shirt walking off the cruise so everyone knew that he was, for sure, on it.

One more story, amongst the tons that I have. Our last night Jeremy and Brad decided to down the drinks that were stored in their luggage. So we finally made it to dinner and we are having our regular rolls and such and then Jeremy decides to basically yell, while looking at the guy next at the table next to us, "Did you see how much butter he used?!?!?!?!?!!?" I was so embarrassed, I cannot even explain it. The wife just kind of looked at Jeremy and then back to her husband and pretended to not hear it. Well, I asked Jer to not say anything but he was drunk and that means he likes to push my buttons. And push he did, for the next 15 minutes. I promise if we were at home I would have punched him in the stomach. Staci and Brad are hysterical laughing because Jeremy keeps talking about butter and I keep telling him that I am about to get very angry; but it just wasn't working. At one point I looked at Staci and she probably had the same piece of bread in her mouth because she couldn't chew from laughing. I am thrilled that everyone found this comically, but I was not dying with laughter. I did get over it, but we will never speak about butter again.

Anywhom, the cruise was amazing and I can't wait to go on another vacation!

Pictures to come soon :)
